Every year, Construction Safety Week provides us with the opportunity to step back and evaluate our practices in place. This year’s theme is Value Every Voice: Encourage, Listen and Empower. The safety and success of any construction project is determined by the individual decisions and actions of every team member.
Each person on the job, regardless of their role, has a deep responsibility to take initiative, accountability, and personal ownership in keeping their team and job site safe. We must work to create an environment that encourages communication, teamwork, sharing of ideas and perspectives, and a commitment to listening and embracing every voice. This not only builds trust and confidence in every individual, it also deepens respect, unity, and understanding within teams at all levels.
We are hosting toolbox talks on all sites each day of this week to cover the topics such as driving personal ownership of safety and embracing every voice.
