Heritage House uses around 8,000 kWh of electricity every month to keep everything running. In June 2026, our solar panels generated an impressive 5,055 kWh—providing more than half of the building's monthly electricity needs.
But that's not all. We also exported 1,400 kWh of clean energy back to the local grid, helping to power nearby homes. In total, that's the equivalent of 4,540 home-hours of electricity—enough to power one average home for 4,540 hours, 4,540 homes for one hour, or any combination in between!
Since the solar installation was commissioned in February 2025, the panels have generated an incredible 59,616 kWh of renewable electricity, preventing approximately 7.8 tonnes of CO₂ emissions.
The benefits extend even further. Thanks to our EV charging powered by renewable energy, we've enabled 50,121 miles of electric vehicle travel this year alone. That's the equivalent of avoiding the use of 3,906 litres of petrol or diesel and preventing a further 9.02 tonnes of CO₂ emissions.
Even better, we're currently on track to recover the full cost of the solar installation this year— just 21 months after it was installed.
A final fact to brighten your day… If you added together all the electricity our solar panels are expected to generate over their 25- year lifespan, it would be enough to power a typical three-bedroom home for an incredible 556 years!
