As it is National Apprenticeship Week 2023 we thought we would celebrate our 37 years experience in running apprenticeship schemes. To date, we have successfully completed over 50 apprenticeships, across our projects.
We currently have Carpentry and Joinery apprenticeships running on many of our projects including the parliamentary estate building Norman Shaw North, Tower Hamlets Town Hall, King’s Road Park in Fulham and Barking Riverside.
This year, we are looking to fill apprenticeship positions on many of our new projects including Solar Serena Sunrise in Hornchurch, New Bond Street, Television Centre in White City, as well as further positions at Barking Riverside and Gascoigne West also in Barking.
If you are interested in starting a career in carpentry please get in touch at apply@secarpentry.co.uk to find out more about our apprenticeships.
Apprenticeships begin with the initial three year training completing NVQ1, NVQ2 and NVQ3. The apprentice then receives Gold CSCS as a certified carpenter, following this the apprentice may then continue to work for SEC for a further two years under supervision as an 'Improver’. We promote further opportunities to develop a managerial career with company funding to achieve completion of NVQ4, NVQ5 and NVQ6. We are proud to say that 10 members of our current senior workforce have progressed through the apprenticeship programme.
