Our Dust Management Award will be presented regularly to teams who lead by example, maintain high standards and actively promote best practice throughout their projects. By celebrating these achievements, we hope to encourage innovation, reinforce positive behaviours, and support our company-wide goal of reducing dust across every site. At the beginning of June I asked for all of our projects to be mindful of the controls SEC use to manage dust. I asked the project teams to carry out a number of controls to help ensure our compliance.
As part of the campaign, teams across SEC sites will take part in Toolbox Talks covering:
✔ The risks associated with dust exposure
✔ Practical steps to reduce and manage dust risks
✔ The importance of looking after ourselves and our colleagues
✔ The rollout of new SEC high-visibility campaign vests across our projects.
Our goal is simple: everyone should go home from work as healthy as when they arrived.
August’s Award Winner
Congratulations to Peter for winning the first Dust Management Award in August. Peter acted promptly to ensure that his team:
· Signed the new COSHH DUST assessments
· Ensured operatives RPE was annotated onto the equipment register to ensure they were inspected
· All operatives were Face Fit tested with certificates.
September’s Award Winner
A big congratulations to Dominic for setting up one of our newest project sites and keeping standards high while carrying out the temporary works. As part of our ongoing dust management focus, all operatives must have signed the new COSHH Dust Assessments and ensure they are wearing certified, face-fit tested RPE where required.
