We were thrilled to be invited to speak at the House of Lords on Tuesday evening for Evolve Apprenticeships and the Flexi-Job Apprenticeship Agency launch. Lloyd Brown, our Customer Care Director, addressed the need to close the skills gap in construction for heritage building projects. We discussed our apprenticeships on past and future heritage jobs with Wates. On such projects we are able to ensure our apprentices gain skills and experience in heritage restoration and conservation as part of their SEC Carpentry and Joinery apprenticeship programme.
In our photos you can see Lloyd with the other speakers from the event, guest speaker Lord Aberdare, Department for Education Faisal Ahmed - Apprenticeship funding policy / education & skills funding agency and CITB's Carl Licorish.
