Project overview
Located on the western side of Blackfriars Road, the former social security office was replaced with a mixed-use hotel and office space. Hoxton Hotel, Southwark has transformed this part of Blackfriars Road into a vibrant place where people want to work, live and visit.
Hoxton Hotels have created a new mixed-use development comprising a 192-bed hotel with boutique office space above. Exciting active use include conference facilities, public bars and an extensive restaurant creating a significant public draw at both the ground and mezzanine levels.
The street elevations feature facing screens in profiled white pre-cast concrete, a device which provides a formal set piece response to the historic church opposite. They contrast with brickwork of the underlying building, which steps down towards the more modest Southwark townscape.
Office floorplates have been carefully configured to offer long term adaptability, enabling high-density working, open-plan and highly flexible workspace. The boutique hotel floors will offer a bespoke interiors concept drawn from the historical context, alongside exciting active uses; including conference facilities, public bars and extensive restaurant offers.
